'THE' Shoes!!!

So I have always had a love for a high heel but the major problem being I can barely walk in them never mind last a night dancing the night away with a pair on! They look lovely in the bottom of the wardrobe, in fact time for confession...sometimes I have been known to vacuum in my fav heels! But sadly that's as far as it goes - they are decoration at the bottom of the wardrobe because having to come home in bare feet carrying my shoes has never been my thing!

Then I discovered wedges and have an array in all shapes and sizes - I LOVE wedges....maybe even more than I love chocolate! And my love for chocolate is a deep love but I love the way Wedges make me lovely and tall and feel all feminine and girly! In a way that tottering in a stilletto never has - because I am in so much pain!! So in my quest for the next pair of Wedges and whilst leafing through the Simply Be catalogue,  I stumbled upon THE Wedge!! The Wedge to beat all wedges, comfiest shoes in the whole wide world and in an array of colours!!! I present the Gumbie Tutti Frutti wedge (yeah I don't know where the name came from either!!! )

Tuttu Frutti in Gold

Now I know they might not look like much - but believe me - they are comfort like you have never known because they are like the jelly shoes we all wore as kids!! Sheer comfy tootsies heaven!! So Comfy I managed to wear them three nights on the trot in Marbella until 7am in the morning - normally by day two I am on the flip flops!!

So to save myself the trauma of the same shoes every night of my holiday I bought a second pair - the hot pink ones - oh I just had to!

They come in White, Black, Purple, Navy, Gold and Pink and I am tempted to get them all - just trying to pace myself and not break the bank!! Only £35 too - not the cheapest shoes but believe me - you will get your wear out of them!!

So thanks Simplybe for introducing me to the comfiest shoes every invented for (wo)man!!!

Giorgio Asdaso saves me!!

So having been away with two different groups of girls for weekends recently, I have noticed my friends have been sporting some gorgeous blouses. Chiffony blouses, some with ruffles, some plain but all in warm peach and cream tones and so pretty, gorgeous and light!

Well as much as I love doing my own thing in fashion, sometimes I am a follower without a doubt. Sometimes you see something on someone and you want want want one like a child in a sweet store verging on a tantrum! So needless to say - I had made up my mind that I wanted to get myself one! Given I have two nights out this weekend, I realised online wasn't going to satisfy my impatience and I would need to hit the stores in search of the perfect blouse. Well no not perfect, just a pretty blouse would do.

Well I'm guessing you know how this ends!!

I'll start from the beginning though and  given the success of my much loved Maxi I thought I would check out New Look first. Now here comes another rant - apologies in advance. I flounced into the store and wow in their main range the have screeds and screeds of gorgeous blouses in warm tones that I loved - check out this little number!

Apricot (Orange) Ruffle Button Chiffon Blouse | 224585084 | New Look

Ruffle Button Chiffon Blouse £22.99

Then I saw this lovely and it was reduced -

Coral (Orange) Apricot Crinkle Batwing Blouse | 226271083 | New Look

Apricot crinkle blouse reduced to £13.00

Then I got to the Inspire Range - and guess what - NADA, NOTHING, ZILCH!!! One token attempt at a pretty blouse  -

Now don't get me wrong - nothing wrong with this blouse - except it's not really a blouse. The body is Viscose and frankly clingy and unforgiving and its a pull on top! I wanted a lovely floaty blouse that looked pretty and made me feel pretty. A blouse with buttons up the front - you know that way that blouses do! It's not as though I am asking that they carry something it would be ridiculous that a bigger girl would want to wear (well not that I think anything like that exists!) but anyway! All I wanted was a nice, normal, light floaty blouse! Even the Tall range was in on the game with some lovely blouses in gorgeous corals and peach. In fact I found it quite disappointing to look at the corals, peaches and warm tones throughout the store - and to look at the Inspire Range and see we were being short changed.

Anyway after New Look I ventured into Next, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Marks & Spencer and Monsoon. Hmmmmmmmm - not too impressed at all. With the exception of Monsoon with this lovely number, no one came close! As much as I loved this blouse - £55 is a bit over my budget for a blouse for lunches with the ladies or nights in the local pub!

So with despair and an utter frustration I plodded along to my local 24 hr Asda Wallmart. The cats needed new cat milk - not every hour is glamour you know :-)!

So before I got myself along to the pet aisle for the cats I found myself browsing George at Asda - why not - the high street chains are letting me down so lets see what Mr friendly superstore can do for me - and hey presto - BINGO!!
I came home with two lovely blouses -
Red Pussybow Blouse
Pussy bow blouse £10!!!

and

G21 Heart Print Blouse

Now don't get me wrong - these aren't the peachy floaty blouses I had hoped for but for the price I cannot grumble. It's a sad state of affairs when Reliable George at Asda has more choice than stores that are meant to cater to plus sizes!

Anyway ladies - I promise I won't just grumble all the time. The more fashion has became my focus the more I realise how much plus size girls are missing out that's all but I appreciate there are some diamonds out there too!

Have a lovely weekend

My Favourite thing right now!!

So we all have a favourite item of clothing at any one time right - or maybe thats just me!! I tend to wear my 'fav' item of clothing until I get sick of it! Hot date, lunch with the girls, night on the town - even a cinema trip might have me getting it out the wardrobe!

At the moment its a dres out of New Look - Inspire Range - the Aztec Maxi! I LOVE IT!!! I would happily put a link to it on here - but it appears they have taken it off their website despite having seen it in store just a couple of weeks ago!! Anyway - I love it! Polyester hell but that means I just get to wash it and wear it quicker!

So whilst I am all up for singing the praises of New Look for this dress - and a bargain at only £29.99 I have a bit of a gripe here too! Thing is, I fell out of love with the Inspire range a while ago - I don't do tweetie pie t-shirts or oversized hoodies and if I did I would go to a Sports shop for them! For an age the Inspire range was well uninspiring! I just stopped going in  - what was the point. However I bucked and went in one Saturday in July and came accross this dress and was giddy with excitement - my love for New Look had been rekindled!

Sadly it wasn't too be - this has been the sum of my excitement with them this summer! I have went in numerous times to pick up other stuff I hoped and prayed they had bought in. Nothing really quite as nice - an awful lot of crazy patterns or those awful oversized cotton tops that cover everything. I quite like my curves thanks you very much Mr New Look - and I will happily show them off. So New Look are back in my not so good books - screeds and screeds of gorgeous stock for the main stream sizes but us big girls tucked away at the back with a load of black polyester trousers and boring cotton tops to choose from!

Ok rant over! But certainly some Kudos to New Look for this number anyway!

A begining!

So I have been toying with doing this for so long - made up my mind abut two months to start a blog and as you can tell... didn't get very far!! But here I am, its a start - so let me see how I get on!

Oh and don't worry - this will be the shortest post- I do plan on having a lot more to say!
